"my love for this man knows no bounds" (c)
Rooney“I was disappointed at the end of the game and felt we’d deserved more out of it,” said Rooney. “Your emotions are high at the end. When I look back, I probably shouldn’t have said it, although I maybe could have said worse! I felt we didn’t get the decisions. But that’s the way it goes. There have been games when we have got the decisions when we shouldn’t have. As a team, it was probably the best performance we’ve had this season. It was a good performance but a disappointing result.”
“It’s nice to be noticed, but I’ve said before I’m really happy at United,” said Rooney. “Unless they tell me otherwise, I can’t see myself leaving, to be honest. I’ve got two years left after this year so, I’m sure, we’ll be negotiating a new deal in the next few months.”
Asked if he saw himself spending the rest of his career at United, Rooney added: “Yeah. I love the place. It’s 30 minutes from home and all my family, and I’ve got a great chance of winning trophies. And, of course, I’d love to become a United legend. It’s a massive club. Growing up, although I was an Everton fan, I loved watching United play and they won a lot of trophies. That was the Eric Cantona era, when he was brilliant. He had something about him. You looked at him and he was fearsome really, just looking at him on the television. I imagined playing up against him. But it was about United, the way they played and attacked, the way they played right to the end. I remember them scoring last-minute goals, which showed their desire to want to keep going. Now, I’ve won trophies there myself and I want to win more there.”And Evra, oh, love him more with every new interview

At United you are carrying the weight of the club’s history. You become a Red Devil when you have fully understood that. The mentality of this club is to hate defeat. In four years I have lost very few League games. To win three League titles was a real achievement. To win a fourth this season would make us legends.”
Evra then went on to hail the impact Sir Alex Ferguson has had on him during his time at United.
“I’m not saying I am better but I really believe in my own qualities as a player,” he added. “His demand for success drives him on and pushes him to the limit. He makes you aware of your responsibilities regarding the team. He trusts me. That means a lot to me. I do what he tells me to do. The day when I can no longer work that hard, I know he will have no qualms at all of dropping me from the team.”
